The Analog Advantage
Our digitally-controlled tape machine integrates directly into your mastering signal flow, allowing us to fine-tune parameters like bias and EQ as creative sound-shaping tools. The result? Your tracks benefit from:
- Enhanced mix cohesion and warmth
- Musical filtering of sub and supersonic frequencies
- Smoother high-frequency response
- Improved stereo image and depth
- More natural-sounding percussion
- Rounded transients that translate better to vinyl
- Tighter bass fundamentals that enhance groove
- 7.5 ips (dirty texture – when you gain for some extra vibe),
- 15 ips (reliable and balanced – our vintage recommendation!),
- 30 ips (crisp hi-end – we figured that this speed is perfect for cold styles like electro or IDM).
- Increased drum presence even with modern limiting
Frequently Asked Questions
What format should I submit my audio?
We prefer WAV or AIFF files in 24-bit (not dithered) or 32-bit format. While 16-bit is sufficient for consumer playback, it’s inadequate for professional processing.
We recommend 44.1 kHz sample rate as standard, though we’ll work with your project’s native rate. Note that mixing sample rates on vinyl can increase cutting costs.
