A modified Akai S900 from 1986 ran through a thousand kicks for this pack. The mod lets you listen directly to the AD-converter while sampling – something the stock machine never allowed.

Recording happens through the S900’s 12-bit, 16kHz-to-6kHz conversion, combined with the input filter and an input monitor overdrive stage for extra grit in real time. The analog 36dB lowpass filter can now be dialed in by hand, or bypassed entirely for SP-12-style aliasing artefacts.

Included: S900 6kHz kicks, S900 6kHz-L + Monitor-R pairs (blend your own balance between the clean sampled signal and the overdriven monitor path), and S900 6kHz Monitor kicks on their own.
